Northwood has had its eye on the upcoming University matchup this season, so the Timberwolves weren't surprised to be tied going into this meet with the defending Pacific Coast League champion, and unbeaten on April 22, 2015.
The Timberwolves succeeded in improving the positioning of one or two swimmers in nearly every event but University had a steady meet, which allowed them to overtake Northwood. Varsity Girls and Boys combined would end the meet with University (205 points), and Northwood (135 points).
As it prepares for next week's meet against Corona del Mar who is now currently tied for second place in the league with Northwood it does so with confidence, not discouragement, following its loss today.
"I told everyone after the meet. You all swam a heck of a meet, it's just this time the combined wins were not in our favor, and that's just how it happens sometimes," Timberwolves coach Alex Nieto said. But I couldn't be more proud of everyone's effort and how you swam this meet."
