Sarah Chaffee, Host/Reporter for Southern California PrepInsiders for FoxSports West brings the story of Northwood's Hunter Hitchens journey through the sport and how he's reached recent success in the Building Character feature presented by the United States OC Marines.  Photos via SCPrepInsiders.

College commit Hunter Hitchens, (Cornell University), has starred as a four-year varsity member of the swim team at Northwood High School, and instrumental part of the program's success.  In athletics, Hitchens was a four-year varsity letter swimmer who helped lead the Timberwolves to three consecutive Pacific Coast League boys swimming championships, CIF Southern Section D1 Championship crown, and CIF State Championship win.

He is devoted and committed as much with his academics receiving NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors in eligible years, while academically receiving distinction recognition from the College Board as an NHRP Scholar in 2017.

Sarah Chaffee, Host/Reporter for Southern California PrepInsiders for FoxSports West interviews Northwood's team captain who opens up about his journey to recent success, and understands the grind of competitive swimming to get there.

“The character I have received from my school, community, and friends has molded me into the individual I am today," said Hunter Hitchens.  "The big picture is not about what affects me, but the big picture is what I can do to affect others in a positive manner."
